Ordinary Chinese visa has 16 types, the most common types are:

F: for visitors

L: for tourism

M: for business and trade

Q: marriage and relative visa

S: relative of foreigner in China

X1:student visa who study more than 6 months

X2:student visa who study less than 6 months

Z: work visa

X1 visa:

X1 visa is for the students who will study more than 6 months in China.

To get X1 visa, the students must apply an university’s admission. After examine the documents, school will issue Admission letter and JW202 form ( Visa Application for Study in China), student with these two documents plus embassy required other visa

documents can go to embassy to apply X1 visa.

X1 visa has 3 months to enter China. It is valid for 30 days after entering China, that is to say：from the entrance date counts 30 days is the expire day of the visa, before expiration, students must change to residence permit.

X2 visa is for the students who will study less than 6 months in China.

To get X2 visa, the students must apply an university’s admission.After examine the documents, school will issue Admission letter and JW201 form or JW202 form ( Visa Application for Study in China), student with these two documents plus embassy required other visa documents can go to embassy to apply X2 visa.

X2 visa will be valid for 6 months from the day visa is issued. Students must go to university as soon as possible after getting visa.X2 visa can not be extended in China.
